How long does Corona Arch take to hike?

Most online estimates suggest that the Corona Arch hike takes about 2 hours on average. We added on a visit to Pinto Arch–more on that below–and took a couple of very long breaks to enjoy the views of each arch. With those caveats, we still exited the trail just under 3 hours after we started.

This is also a good hike to do if you have a dog and can't hit the National Park trails or you're only visiting for a day and don't want to pay the entrance fees (or wait in line to get in…). Whatever your reason, hiking the Corona Arch trail is absolutely worth it.

The trail soon reaches Corona Arch, is 140 feet (42.6m) wide by 105 feet (32m) high – making it significantly bigger than Delicate Arch, the largest arch in Arches National Park (which is 46 feet / 14m high and 32 feet / 10m wide).

Scrambling & climbing on the Primitive Trail. Primitive Trail – This alternative route (2.1 mi/3.5 km one-way) to or from Double O Arch is the most difficult segment of the Devils Garden trail system. The obstacles in this segment include difficult route finding, steep slopes, narrow drop-offs, and rock scrambling.

Devils Garden Primitive Loop – 7-8 Miles The longest maintained trail in the park, this 7.2-mile hike is for the advanced hiker as there are narrow ledges and exposure along the way. You'll pass eight arches along the way, as well as the Dark Angel spire, a 125-foot feature that attracts rock climbers.

Devils Garden Loop Trail It's one of the most popular parts of the park as it offers many different hikes, camping, and stargazing. Within this 8-mile loop, you can pick an easy hike to an extremely advanced hike (looking at you – primitive trail). Hikes such as landscape arch, double o arch, and more.

With just half a day in Arches National Park, the Windows section is the best place to go to see several impressive rock features in a short span of time. In one area, you can walk half a mile to the massive Double Arch and 1 mile to see the North Window, South Window and Turret Arch.
