How many days do you need in Capri?

We like to think of Capri is less a destination to visit and more a land to discover, where you can relax and explore at a measured pace. For this reason, we do not recommend coming for a day trip. You'll need at least three or four days to fully experience Capri and Anacapri.

I like to stay in one place longer but if you have never been, I do think visiting Capri for two nights is a nice way to experience it for the first - you won't see as much as you could but you will certainly see and enjoy more than you would if you went for a day trip or just one night in and and out.

This is a bit ambitious, doing everything in 2 weeks. We just did Capri, Naples and the Amalfi coast in spring and it took us 10 days which was way too short. I agree that you would need at least 3 days in Capri, Amalfi and Positano are both great places to visit and so is Ravello. Sorrento is nice but nothing special.

If you plan on going to the surrounding areas for historic sites, shopping, etc. then I would recommend Sorrento because it is on the main land and you can reach the other areas easier. If however you want to relax and spend the time at a great hotel then taking the hydrofoil over to Capri.

A good way to avoid the tourist crowds is to avoid the most popular places between 11 am and 6 pm and instead, go for a hike, a stroll around the Villas, go to a beach club, rent a private boat, enjoy the gardens or swimming pool of your hotel, or go shopping on via Camerelle.
