The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood is a highly immersive land that features two main rides. The flagship attraction is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a state-of-the-art dark ride located inside the iconic Hogwarts Castle. It uses a unique robotic arm system to whisk passengers through scenes from the films, blending physical sets with high-definition projection screens. The second ride is Flight of the Hippogriff, a family-friendly outdoor roller coaster that takes guests past Hagrid’s Hut and offers a great view of the Hogsmeade village. While there are only two "mechanical" rides, the land is packed with other interactive experiences. The Ollivanders Wand Shop features a live theatrical "wand choosing" show, and throughout Hogsmeade, guests with interactive wands can perform "spells" at various windows to trigger magical effects. Additionally, the land features the Hogwarts Express photo op (though it is a stationary train in the Hollywood version, unlike the transport ride in Orlando) and frequent live performances like the Triwizard Spirit Rally and the Frog Choir, making the area feel much larger than its two-ride count suggests.
