How often do the waves come at Typhoon Lagoon?

It's approximately 2.5 acres in size with 3 million gallons of water (80,000 gallons are used for each wave). The Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool uses a machine to generate an approximately 6-foot tall wave every 90 seconds, with periods of calm between the waves.

A series of gates controlled by hydraulics along the back wall of the pool open to release the raised water down into the pool. This displacement of water creates the wave. Adjusting the timing of the gate opening allows the Typhoon Lagoon to offer lefts, rights, a central peak and whitewater rollers.

When is the best day of the week to visit Typhoon Lagoon? Weekdays, the nearer to the beginning of the week the better. Later in the week, TL attracts the people who typically spend the beginning of the week at the major parks. Local residents tend to keep things busy on the weekends.

The two water parks differ in their ownership, but the major difference between Typhoon Lagoon and Volcano Bay is the attractions. - Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. “Are shirts allowed on the rides or in the wave pool?” Yes, they are. I actually purchased a couple of surf shirts (designed to get wet) and wore one of them while I was there.
