How scary is Guardians of Galaxy ride?

Really big. It is a bouncing that does bring you out of your seat as you drop (lap belts should be tightened to help minimize this movement). Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout is absolutely a scary ride and just may be too scary for some kids.

The "scare factor" depends on which Disney park you visit in 2026. At Disney California Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is a high-intensity drop tower ride. It is considered quite intense because the elevator car doesn't just fall; it is pulled down faster than gravity, creating a "stomach-in-throat" sensation. The randomized drop sequences and loud rock music make it exhilarating but potentially terrifying for those who dislike heights. Conversely, at EPCOT in Disney World, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a "storytelling coaster." It features a reverse launch and rotating cars, but no massive traditional drops. It is considered moderately thrilling due to its speed and motion, but it is generally less "scary" than the California version, though it is more likely to cause motion sickness due to the spinning.

Unlike the Tilt-A-Whirl or the Teacups, the spinning isn't constant — but there's enough of it that if those rides give you motion sickness, you should be prepared that you might have some with Cosmic Rewind.
