How scary is Tron launch?

There are no inversions, but the launch can be a little scary if they haven't done something like that before, and inside the show building things are pretty dark, so that may be frightening for younger riders.

The launch on TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom is considered "thrilling" but not overly "scary" for most coaster enthusiasts. It propels you from 0 to 59.3 miles per hour in a matter of seconds, sending you out of the building and under the glowing "Grid" canopy. The sensation is similar to the launch on Test Track or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, but the "scare factor" is unique because of the motorcycle-style seating; straddling the bike makes you feel more exposed than a traditional seat. While the launch provides a strong "stomach-drop" feeling, the rest of the ride is very smooth with no inversions and no massive drops. Most 2026 riders describe it as a "high-energy sprint" rather than a terrifying ordeal. If you can handle Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain, you will likely find the TRON launch to be an exhilarating highlight rather than a source of fear.
