Terminal 1 is for international, Schengen, and non-Schengen flights. Terminal 2 is newer and larger and is also for international flights.

There is no cost to take Tram 2 from the airport to Grand Arénas, which is the first station outside of the airport. From there you may purchase the required rechargable pass (2€) and a single trip ticket (1.70€). You will have to get off the tram, purchase the ticket, and then get back on the next tram.

At the tram stops, purchase your ticket at the kiosk prior to boarding. You can't purchase tickets on the tram. Once you board, insert your ticket into the validation machine with the arrow pointing down. The machine will be beep, stamp your ticket and spit it back out.

The trams start running at 4.30am and run until 1.30am every night. Between 6am and 9pm the trams run every 3-10 mins. Outside of these hours, the trams run every 11-30 minutes.

An enclosed walkway connects the Departures Level of Terminal 1 with the Arrivals Level of Terminal 2. Once you pass through security in both terminals, you are within a common departures area, and you can freely walk between the shopping areas and boarding gates across both terminals.

STL Airport provides a free Terminal Shuttle which runs 24 hours a day between Exit 12 at both terminals. There is no route to walk between terminals at this time. Shuttle ride time is approximately 10 minutes, as Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are just over one mile apart.
