How to get to Two lakes Bridge Interlaken?

The ten minute funicular trip from Interlaken will take you to the Two Lakes Bridge and Harder Kulm viewing point. The funicular departs from the centre of town, near Interlaken Ost train station.

The "Two Lakes Bridge" (Zwei-Seen-Steg) is the iconic viewing platform located at Harder Kulm, the "Top of Interlaken." To get there in 2026, the most popular method is the Harderbahn funicular, which departs from a station just across the Aare River from the Interlaken Ost train station. The funicular ride takes only 10 minutes and runs every 30 minutes from mid-April to late November. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also hike to the top; the trail starts near the funicular base and takes roughly 2 to 3 hours of steep climbing through wooded terrain. Once you arrive at the mountain station, a short, flat 5-minute walk leads you directly to the overhanging bridge, which offers a breathtaking "vertical" view of Lake Brienz, Lake Thun, and the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks. It is a peer-to-peer "must-see" that stays open for sunset during the summer months.
