Amtrak is significantly faster. The ride between Philidelphia and New York is 2 hours and 10 minutes. On Mega bus the ride is 1 hour and 30 minutes on Regional Amtrak (even less on Acela). Amtrak tends, an I mean that loosely, to be more reiable because it doesn't fight random traffic.
