Yes, Disney's Animal Kingdom is undergoing its most significant transformation since the opening of Pandora. As of February 2, 2026, the "DinoLand U.S.A." section of the park has permanently closed to make way for a brand-new 11-acre land called Tropical Americas (also referred to as Pueblo Esperanza). This new area is scheduled to fully open in 2027 and will feature two massive "E-Ticket" attractions: a re-themed Indiana Jones adventure (replacing the DINOSAUR ride system) and a brand-new Encanto attraction featuring the Madrigal family's Casita. Construction is currently very active, with much of the back of the park behind walls. Additionally, the "It's Tough to be a Bug!" show inside the Tree of Life is being replaced by a new Zootopia-themed show, which is expected to debut later in 2026. These changes reflect Disney's strategy to integrate more popular film franchises into the park's naturalistic theme. While the core "safari" and "Avatar" experiences remain untouched, the park's aesthetic is shifting from 1990s-style roadside kitsch toward a lush, immersive Latin American jungle environment.
