Is anything taller than the Burj Khalifa?

Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Tower To Replace Burj Khalifa As World's Tallest Building.

As of early 2026, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai remains the tallest building in the world, standing at its record-breaking height of 828 meters (2,717 feet). While several "challengers" have been proposed or are currently under construction, none have yet surpassed it. The most notable rival is the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, which is designed to be the first "one-kilometer" tall building (1,000+ meters); however, after years of construction delays and pauses, it is not scheduled for completion until at least late 2027 or 2028. Another project, the Mubarak al-Kabir Tower in Kuwait, is still in the planning and early development phases. Currently, the second-tallest completed structure is the Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which reached its full height of 679 meters in 2023. Therefore, while the "race to the top" continues in the Middle East and Asia, the Burj Khalifa has successfully defended its crown for over 16 years, remaining the undisputed king of the global skyline for the 2026 travel season.
