Is Canyonlands better for sunrise or sunset?

Sunrise is hands down the best time to photograph and visit Mesa Arch! The short, 0.7-mile hike to Mesa Arch is one of the most popular things to do in Canyonlands National Park. Be sure to arrive at least 45 minutes before the stated sunrise time.

Ideally, you need at least two days in Canyonlands National Park. With two days, you can visit both Island in the Sky and The Needles. Canyonlands in Moab, Utah, has some great views and some very pretty overlooks, but unless you are spending some time driving the off-road trails or camping on the White Rim Road, the typical person would probably spend half as much time in Canyonlands than in Arches.
