Is Cosmic Rewind a drop ride?

It's easily my favorite ride at Disney World. But I wouldn't call it a beginning coaster. Overall it's pretty tame as there aren't any huge drops or inversions or anything like that. But you are in a dark room, so there are times you don't know which way you are about to turn.

While it's fast, Cosmic Rewind has a super smooth track and a rotating ride vehicle that doesn't make it feel like you are going too fast. While we *know* it's got some speed (check out the hair flying in the picture!), it doesn't feel like an incredibly scary attraction from this point of view.

The back rows of coasters tend to be a bit more whippy, so if you like that, it makes the back better. If you prefer a smoother ride, the front is better. If you like seeing the cars ahead of you going through the track to better anticipate what's coming, the back is better.

There might be a way to ride Cosmic Rewind twice! If you can secure a boarding group for the ride, and also purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for the ride, it stands to reason that you could ride it twice: once with your boarding group, and once with your Lightning Lane!

In my opinion, absolutely. Soarin' has been our favorite ride in Epcot for a while. They have a few new really exciting rides. But Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind was by far the best one.

Cosmic Rewind is A LOT when it comes to sounds and lights. It may be too scary in this sense for children who do not like loud noises or flashing lights. It starts during the two pre-show rooms, where there are some moments where flashing and loud whirring noises could be a bit too much for some children.

On most rides you can either place the backpack on the ride car floor, behind and between your legs, and you will be just fine. I did this all last week with a string backpack and had no problems. I even rode on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind with the bag, and no issues!

The cars are designed for only one person per seat, but the lap bar will keep him in the seat securely. I have nephews who rode Space Mtn. when they were only 6 and 5 years old, and they did fine.
