Is Disney Springs a safe area?

Tons of people around as well as visible security. You're well inside the Disney bubble. It's all safe and Disney works to make sure it stays that way. Really, the bulk of Orlando is reasonably safe, especially the tourist areas.

Disney Springs is considered one of the safest shopping and dining districts in the world due to Disney's comprehensive, multi-layered security approach. In 2026, every guest entering Disney Springs must pass through a security checkpoint featuring state-of-the-art Evolv metal detectors and bag searches. This screening process was recently expanded in August 2025 to include all guests arriving via Disney Resort buses, effectively closing previous security "loopholes." Beyond the visible checkpoints, the area is patrolled 24/7 by uniformed security officers, undercover "plainclothes" security, and local Orange County Sheriff's deputies. There are also hundreds of high-definition cameras monitored in a central "command center." While petty crimes like phone theft can occur in any crowded area, violent crime is extremely rare. Disney also enforces a strict "Code of Conduct" that allows them to remove any individuals who are being disruptive or disrespectful, maintaining a controlled, family-friendly environment.
