Is Disney tearing down Space Mountain?

In 2022, the Tokyo Disney Resort announced that it would be completely overhauling its Tomorrowland area. This massive, multi-million dollar project will take several years and means the permanent closure of Space Mountain as we know it. That's right, Space Mountain will soon be closing forever at Tokyo Disneyland.

As the title says, Space Mountain and other attractions often break for an hour or two and then they are back up and running. I was curious what actually is happening? Space Mountain has systems in place that require each train to be unloaded and reloaded in 20 seconds. If this time frame isn't met the ride shuts down.
