It's simultaneously thrilling, family-friendly, genuinely funny, and visually stunning. And, for what it's worth, I rode it three times in a row and did not get motion sickness, even though ride vehicles rotate as they glide along the track.

Tall Heights In Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic RewindCosmic Rewind may be too scary for kids who do not like heights or the feeling of being far up. This one is a little harder to explain, but the coaster track has the vehicles flying through space, and you do feel like you are in a spaceship surrounded by the stars.
Even though this is a coaster that rotates and launches in reverse, Disney describes Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind as a family-friendly coaster. It's a smooth ride, similar in feel to Slinky Dog Dash, with no sudden jerking or bumps.
Disney got this ride right. The first coaster in EPCOT is something else - a well themed coaster that has a story and music - that is very fast and has cars that spin independently towards the action - truly a must do experience. The coaster was quite fun but be warned it may be intense for younger kids.
Now, guests hear classic rock/pop songs from the Guardians of the Galaxy film soundtrack, and experience one of six drop sequences (meaning the ride should be different the first few times you ride it). The ride itself is shorter, faster and more intense than Tower of Terror was, but it's not a huge change.
Are there drops or upside-down parts? The ride has no straight drops, but there are some areas where the track is curved so you're turning down (while the seat rotates keeping you facing the same way). It does not go upside down.
Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic RewindThe photo on this ride occurs toward the beginning of the ride. It happens after the reverse launch, as you begin to spin back around to face forward. If you look up and to the right slightly, you will see several suns. You will notice a flash as they snap your photo!
Spinning / DirectionUnlike the Tilt-A-Whirl or the Teacups, the spinning isn't constant — but there's enough of it that if those rides give you motion sickness, you should be prepared that you might have some with Cosmic Rewind.
There are a few physical sets in the ride, but the visuals are primarily a variety of projections on screens positioned throughout the ride building. The screens vary in size, with some being very large. Do I wear 3D glasses on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind? No.
Riders on Cosmic Rewind who experience motion sickness report either nausea or vertigo (or both). Even if you don't feel like throwing up, you may find that the world is spinning a bit when you get off.
Guests are limited to one ride per day on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind using the Virtual Queue during regular park hours. This allows as many people as possible an opportunity to ride. However, it is possible to get into the Virtual Queue and also buy an Individual Lightning Lane to ride a second time.
And like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, you'll get a rock-and-roll soundtrack during your ride. Songs include A Flock of Seagulls' I Ran, Blondie's One Way or Another, and Earth, Wind, and Fire's September. The ride ends with the Guardians' mission succeeding. The whole on-board ride experience takes just under 3 minutes.
The attraction's transformation happens later in the afternoon each day. The Collector's Fortress goes dark, alarms sound and special lighting on the exterior of the Fortress alerts guests that something inside has gone awry. Guests may check the Disneyland app or Disneyland.com for the timing of this transformation.
