We took a trip out to Disneyland Resort last year just to witness the residents of Halloween Town scaring their way through our beloved Haunted Mansion. This year, Haunted Mansion Holiday opened on September 1, 2023.
Haunted Mansion was closed from August 7th through the 9th, 2023, for a brief refurbishment. After that closure was extended a bit when the ride failed to reopen on the 10th, the spooky ride finally opened its doors.
(September 10, 2023) – Disney announced today at Destination D23 in Orlando that “Haunted Mansion,” the hit film inspired by the classic theme park attraction, will begin streaming on Disney+ and arrive at digital retail on October 4, 2023.
Disney's latest announcement states that Disneyland Park will improve next year. At some point in 2024, Haunted Mansion at New Orleans Square will close indefinitely as Imagineers add to this section. Specifically, Disney will expand the Haunted Mansion campus so that it can enrich the lore surrounding this attraction.
The Haunted Mansion is the only attraction located in four different lands in four different Disney Parks: New Orleans Square at Disneyland; Liberty Square at Walt Disney World; Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland; and Frontierland at Disneyland Paris.
The Haunted Mansion typically closes for two and half weeks in late August so it can be converted into the Haunted Mansion Holiday. The overlaid attraction is then open to guests from September through early January before being closed again to remove the overlay.
