Is it hard to get a wheelchair at Disney?

ECVs and wheelchairs may not be reserved. Please plan to arrive early; a limited number of ECVs and wheelchairs are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are also invited to bring and use their own ECVs and wheelchairs throughout the Disneyland Resort.

It is generally not hard to get a wheelchair at Disney parks, but availability is handled on a first-come, first-served basis, and they can occasionally run out during peak holiday periods. At both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, manual wheelchairs are available for rent just inside the main entrance of each theme park for a daily fee (approximately $12–$15). For those seeking an Electric Connection Vehicle (ECV) or "scooter," these are also available for a higher fee (roughly $50–$70), but they are in much higher demand and often sell out by mid-morning. To avoid the risk of a park-wide sellout, many guests choose to rent from third-party vendors like ScooterBug, which is the only vendor allowed to drop off equipment at Disney Resort hotels for guests who aren't present. This ensures you have mobility assistance not just in the parks, but also when navigating the vast resort grounds and transportation systems like the Monorail or Skyliner, making the overall experience much more manageable for those with mobility challenges.
