Is June a good time to visit Disneyland?

In terms of summer vacation months, late June is the best option, but it's still not our favorite time to visit Disneyland. Planning a Southern California vacation? For park admission deals, read Tips for Saving Money on Disneyland Tickets.

June is a "mixed bag" for Disneyland Resort in California, primarily because it marks the official start of the busy summer season. On the positive side, June features some of the longest operating hours of the year and the full slate of nighttime entertainment, including parades and fireworks. In 2026, the first half of June is often better than the second, as many local schools are still in session, and the "June Gloom" (overcast skies) can provide a welcome break from the intense Southern California sun. However, by late June, crowds surge to "peak" levels, and the heat often reaches the high 80s or 90s. It is a peer-to-peer reality that June 2026 will be particularly busy as the park continues to celebrate its 70th Anniversary, meaning "Lightning Lane" reservations will be essential for anyone wanting to avoid 60-to-120-minute wait times for popular attractions like Space Mountain or Radiator Springs Racers.
