Is medallion status Sky Priority?

Customers in Delta One and First Class, Diamond Medallion Members and Delta Premium Select customers will be invited to board the aircraft, in that order, via our Delta Sky Priority lane. All Platinum and Gold Medallion Members and SkyTeam Elite Plus customers are then invited to board with Sky Priority (SKY).

Delta Medallion status and Sky Priority are closely related but not identical. Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Medallion members automatically receive the full suite of "Sky Priority" services, which includes dedicated check-in lanes, priority security access at select airports, expedited baggage handling, and early boarding. However, Silver Medallion members do not receive the full SkyPriority benefits; they receive "Priority Boarding" (usually in Zone 5) and waived baggage fees, but they do not get access to the SkyPriority check-in or security lanes. Essentially, SkyPriority is a specific branded set of "airport shortcuts" shared across the SkyTeam alliance, while Medallion status is your specific rank within Delta's loyalty program that grants you those shortcuts along with other perks like complimentary upgrades. If your boarding pass has the "Sky Priority" logo on it, you can use any lane marked with that same branding, regardless of which SkyTeam airline you are flying that day.
