Is Orlando easy to get around?

In spite of all of these choices, the car is king in Orlando, just as it is across most of the US. The road network is excellent, and most attractions have easy access and extensive parking facilities. Car rental is widely regarded as the most convenient and cost-effective option for getting around.

Orlando is not considered easy to get around without a car in 2026, as it is one of the most car-dependent cities in the United States. The city is sprawling, and major hubs like the Airport, International Drive, and Disney World are miles apart. While the I-RIDE Trolley is a high-value option for traveling up and down International Drive, and Disney/Universal offer excellent internal shuttle systems, moving between these different areas is difficult. The local Lynx bus system exists but is often slow and doesn't always drop you close to park gates. For 2026 travelers, rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is the premier alternative to renting a car, though surge pricing during park closing times can make this expensive. If you stay on-site at a major resort, you can enjoy a frictionless "bubble" experience, but for exploring the wider "City Beautiful," renting a vehicle remains the most efficient way to maximize your vacation time.
