Is parking in Wilmington free on weekends?

The City of Wilmington offers tips for parking downtown. Parking at the meters on weekends and holidays are free. There is parking available through many parking garages and lots throughout downtown. The Wilmington Parking Authority has two close lots: the 10th Street Garage or the 8th Street Lot.

You may purchase 15 minutes of parking for a quarter, 6 minutes for a dime, and 3 minutes for a nickel. You can also pay using the Parkmobile app on your phone. The City of Wilmington partners with Parkmobile to allow customers to pay for parking with their phones at approximately 1,000 on-street meters downtown. Customers can pay for parking by using Parkmobile's smartphone app or by calling 1-877-727-5758.

Colonial Surface Lots FREE after 5pm & on weekends! On street parking is available throughout Downtown Wilmington. Please obey posted time limits. Metered spots require payment.

If you continue to ignore your obligation to pay, the town may seek alternative forms of collection, including a collection agency, credit bureau action, or small claims court. Individuals who accumulate 3 or more unpaid citations are subject to have the vehicle immobilized (booted) or towed until full payment is made.

MAIN STREET PARkING Free daily parking is available on all uncovered levels of the China Bridge Garage until 3:00 a.m. (no parking from 3 a.m.-7a. m.). Free parking is available in the Sandridge and North Marsac lots adjacent to Marsac Avenue with 24-hour limits and overnight restrictions (see entrance signs).

Valet pricing With the exception of days Halloween Horror Nights takes place, parking is free for all guests beginning at 6:00 pm. Alternately, regular parking fees are reimbursed when you purchase two matinee movie tickets at Cinemark.

Town-operated parking is open year-round and paid parking is enforced 9 a.m.-8 p.m. March 1-Oct. 31; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 1-Dec. 31.

The first two hours of parking are free with a valid parking receipt being displayed on the dash. Unless a valid 2 hour free parking receipt is displayed, paid parking at $5.00 per hour will be enforced.

Parking Information This parking garage is conveniently located right next to the venue on 5th Street, between Market & King. Many restaurants (and the Delaware History Museum) are within walking distance. The garage has an attendant on duty during hours of operation.
