Santorini is best known as a romantic island with one-of-a-kind views, whereas Mykonos is more about sandy beaches and spirited partying. Depending on the vibe you seek, both islands suit holidays à deux. Solo travellers and groups of friends will also find both appealing, though Mykonos offers more in terms of edge.

Yes, Santorini is known to be a party island in specific locations. For example, if you're staying in Oia, it will be a more romantic and relaxing environment. On the other hand, if you're looking for a more lively atmosphere, then you can head to villages like Fira or some of the beach clubs.

There are slightly fewer crowds in Mykonos vs. Santorini always being packed. We traveled to Greece in mid-May, which was definitely the best time to visit Mykonos and Santorini. This allowed us to explore the islands with fewer crowds but still have nice weather.
