Is Smugglers Run okay for 4 year old?

There is no noted size or age requirement to experience the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run; however, the rider must be a minimum of 38in (97cm) or taller to ride. If you are able to experience it, do not forget about the “On-the-Job Training” using the Play Disney Parks App.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland is generally appropriate for a 4-year-old, provided they meet the height requirement of 38 inches (97 cm). The ride is a flight simulator where guests take on the roles of Pilot, Gunner, or Engineer. For a young child, the experience can be quite thrilling but also potentially overwhelming; the cockpit is a small, enclosed space that features loud noises, flashing lights, and significant "bumping" and tilting as the ship encounters obstacles. If your 4-year-old is a fan of Star Wars and enjoys moderately fast-paced motion (like Star Tours or Slinky Dog Dash), they will likely find it exciting. However, if they are prone to motion sickness or fear the dark and loud vibrations, it might be a bit intense. A helpful tip for parents is to request the "Engineer" role for younger children, as it is the least demanding position and allows them to simply press glowing buttons on the side wall rather than being responsible for steering the ship, which can be stressful if the "Pilot" doesn't realize they are "crashing" into space debris.

Generally speaking, most guests don't have motion sickness issues with Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. I think it helps that you have to look away from the screen and focus on actual tasks. Also, the whole ride experience is smoother and a lot less jittery than Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

Most parents—at least those who, like me, are inordinately attached to Star Wars—felt that around four to seven years old was the sweet spot. At that age, most children have sufficient attention span to sit down and follow a feature-length story.
