Is Stena Line better than Irish Ferries?

So there's not much difference really. We used both last year and I preferred Irish Ferries. I thought there was more to see and do. That said, they're more or less the same so I would go with the cheaper option/best sailing times...

In saying that flying is definitely the better option. Flights can be cheap from just about anywhere in England to Dublin, Belfast or Cork. Flying is a much, much easier option but how much luggage do you have, you will have to pay for hold baggage and the allowances are pretty dismal.

However travelling by train is generally a comfortable way to see Ireland. For journeys between Dublin and Cork and Dublin and Tralee and points in between the train is generally faster than driving or taking the bus.
