Is Swan and Dolphin considered a Disney resort?

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is designated as part of the collection of Walt Disney World® Resorts (see “Walt Disney World® Resort Benefits”)

The Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve occupy a unique "middle ground" in 2026. While they are located on Disney property and are officially "Disney Area Hotels," they are owned and operated by Marriott, not Disney. This means they are not part of the "Disney Resorts Collection." However, they receive almost all the same perks as Disney-owned Deluxe resorts, including Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours. They also allow guests to book Lightning Lane passes 7 days in advance, just like Disney hotel guests. The key differences are that you can use Marriott Bonvoy points to book them, and they do not participate in the "Free Water Park on Arrival Day" benefit introduced in 2025/2026. Additionally, they use Mears/Marriott buses rather than the standard Disney bus fleet for transport to some parks.
