Is the Avatar ride at Animal Kingdom worth the wait?

In my opinion, it's the best of all the 3D flying simulator rides. The line for Avatar Flight of Passage was consistently long throughout the day, at one point reaching 150 minutes toward the early evening. The good news is, that Disney offers a limited number of lightning lane entrance passes, but they do go quickly.

Because it does not have a height requirement, it does not offer rider switch. If you're visiting Animal Kingdom with a small child this is likely to be a must-do together as a family. It isn't scary, per se, but it is quite a dark ride.

Hands down, we thought Avatar Flight of Passage was the best ride at Animal Kingdom — heck, it is definitely the best ride at Walt Disney World! Objectively, the best days to visit Animal Kingdom are weekdays. Across the board, average daily wait times are lower Monday through Friday than they are Saturday or Sunday.

And finally, we come to Animal Kingdom! At this park, the predictably busy day is Saturday. That's when you'll find the longest lines for the rides and the shows with full auditoriums. Do yourself a favor and plan to visit on a different day.

Then families will come upon the main attraction: Flight of Passage. This ride is open to guests who are at least 44 inches tall, which is an average height for 5- and 6-year-olds. (Of course, there will be children who are younger and older when they hit that mark.)
