MSC ships have complimentary food venues to satisfy a wide range of palettes and preferences, including a large buffet and main dining room, which provides meals all day, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Tea, coffee, iced tea, juice, and water are free onboard, although bottled water is an extra charge.
Is there free ice creams included in your drinks package on MSC? Everybody does love soft serve ice cream. There are some free soft serve on the bigger ships that are vanilla or chocolate. Other than that Ice cream is only included only for children as part of the minor package and the non alcoholic package.
Things to NoteHow much you spend bowling on MSC depends on how fast you are, but a full game of 10 frames will probably be pricey, as it costs $45 per lane for an hour. Speedy bowlers might only need a half hour, which will set you back $25 per lane. You'll also need to pay $2 per person for shoe rentals.
There's no need to leave a tip. One area that is not covered is the bar. If you purchase a drink on the ship (assuming you don't have the drink package) then there is a 18% bar service charge added on automatically for North American cruises and 15% for other trips.
What does the dress code actually mean? Men: Any t-shirts or shirt would be acceptable for men. Technically speaking, shorts aren't allowed in the main dining room but jeans are okay.
Dress RestrictionsAt no point is swimwear allowed in any formal dining venue for any meal, including breakfast and lunch. Shorts, flip flops, and tank tops are not allowed for Evening Wear or Gala Night in the Main Dining Rooms, Specialty Restaurants, or MSC Yacht Club.
In terms of onboard offerings, standard drinks -- like coffee, tea, lemonade, and water -- are complimentary on the MSC ships. Most people, however, enjoy a cool beverage poolside or a nice glass of wine with dinner.
Tipping: MSC Cruises does not recommend giving cash tips to individual crew members. On board, the entire payment system is provided by the internal system of each liner. Thus, upon check-in on board the liner, an on-board account will be opened for you, from which a tip (service fee) will be charged.
Most 3- and 4-night cruises have one formal night; most 7-night cruises have 2 formal nights; most 10-night cruises have 3 formal nights, and so on. A dark suit and tie is acceptable attire for formal night on all MSC ships.
