In terms of physical intensity and "fear factor," Revenge of the Mummy is generally considered scarier and more intense than Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. While Gringotts is a high-tech "hybrid" ride that relies heavily on 3D screens and one moderate drop, The Mummy is a high-speed "launched" roller coaster that takes place almost entirely in total darkness. It features sudden drops, sharp turns, and "jump scares" involving physical animatronics and fire effects that create a more visceral sense of peril. The Mummy’s coaster sections are faster and more aggressive, whereas Gringotts spends much of its time "parked" in front of screens for storytelling. If you are sensitive to darkness and the feeling of "not knowing what's next," The Mummy will likely be the more intimidating experience. However, both are considered "family-thrill" coasters and do not include inversions (going upside down).
