Is the New York City zoo free?

Unfortunately, Central Park Zoo does not offer a free admission day. TIP: General admission tickets are included for free with the purchase of the All-Inclusive Sightseeing Pass and up to 50% off with the purchase of the Pick'em Sightseeing Pass, both of which are tourist discount passes.

This is a really nice zoo in Central Park! It's on the smaller side, but there are some really neat animals including snow leopards and red pandas. Being a solo adult traveler I finished the zoo in around an hour, but took some time just to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

In the end, the zoo was pressured to keep the polar bears and sea lions (the sea lion pool in fact became a little bigger), but most of the larger animals like zebras, bears, and elephants were transferred to other zoos.
