There are so many fun things to do at this water park! My favorite is the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, which has 6-foot waves crashing into the sandy shores! Disney keeps the temperature of the water at 82 degrees year-round.

Castaway Creek is the lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon. It's a 21.5 (roughly) minute float that takes you around the Surf Pool, with entries at major spots throughout the park. It's not a particularly well-themed or interesting lazy river, but the plants and greenery throughout are quite nice.
The deepest end of the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is roughly 12 feet deep, so you'll want to have close supervision over children and those who are not strong swimmers.
The best time to go to Typhoon Lagoon is on a weekday.However, if the weekend is your only option I recommend arriving 30 minutes before the park's opening time. It's important to pay attention to park hours and do some research on this prior to your visit. The water parks have shorter hours than the theme parks.
Like many Water Parks in Orlando, Typhoon Lagoon has locker rooms and showers, so make sure you bring a travel size of shampoo, conditioner and soap to rinse off before heading home. Your hotel toiletries work well for this plan.
Rhonda, you are allowed to wear water shoes at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. For most all attractions there, you'll even be able to wear them down the water slides. Do make sure they are true water shoes, however, as flip flops are not permitted on the water slides themselves.
As soon as the park opens, make your way to a seating area near to lots of trees - if you are there early you should have no trouble finding somewhere suitable. There is also a nice quiet and shaded area close to the entrance of 'Crush n Gusher'.
While there are lockers at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, they're not quite big enough to store your luggage for the day. You would definitely need to leave those bags with Bell Services at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, make a splash at the water park, and then head back to grab them.
Simply head over to the towel rental stand to pick them up once you arrive or at any time during your visit. If you happen to rent a Beachcomber Shack, you will find the towels waiting in your cabana once you locate it.
You can use your MagicBands as your admission ticket to both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon (as long as you have Water Parks, Fun and More Options left on your Magic Your Way Tickets). Also the Magic Bands are waterproof so you can wear them in the water at the water parks.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon will close for the season on November 6, 2023, to undergo its annual multi-month refurbishment. Its closure coincides with the November 6 reopening of Blizzard Beach, which was announced on the morning of October 20.
