Is there a beach near Disney World?

Location and Distance from Disney World Cocoa Beach is the closest beach to Disney World, located just over an hour east of Orlando. Its convenient location makes it the perfect choice for a day trip from Disney World.

While Walt Disney World is located in inland Central Florida (Orlando/Lake Buena Vista), several world-class beaches are accessible within a relatively short drive. The Atlantic Coast offers the closest options: Cocoa Beach is roughly 65–70 miles away and typically takes about an hour to reach via the SR-528 Toll Road (Beachline). Nearby Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach are also about 70 miles away. If you prefer the Gulf Coast, known for its calmer waters and white "sugar" sand, Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach are approximately 90–95 miles away, usually a 90-minute to 2-hour drive depending on I-4 traffic. Within the Disney "bubble" itself, you can find white-sand lakeside beaches at resorts like the Polynesian Village or Grand Floridian, though these are for lounging only; swimming in the lakes is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
