One of the best things about Dumbo the Flying Elephant at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland is that it has no height requirement. It is classified as an "Any Height" attraction, making it a perfect first ride for infants, toddlers, and small children. Because the ride vehicle (the elephant) is controlled by a joystick, riders have the autonomy to stay low to the ground if they are nervous or fly as high as they like for a better view of Fantasyland. This lack of restriction means the whole family can ride together, though Disney safety rules typically require children under age 7 to be accompanied by a person age 14 or older. Since there is no height limit, the ride does not offer "Rider Switch," but Disney has mitigated the long wait times at Magic Kingdom by including an interactive, air-conditioned "Big Top" play area where kids can run around until their pager buzzes, indicating it is their turn to fly.
