Is there a real castle made of ice?

The Dillon site is one of six ice castles spread throughout North America (the others are in Excelsior, Minnesota; Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; Midway, Utah; Woodstock, New Hampshire; and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada). The goal is simple: bring joy to others.

The SnowCastle of Kemi (Finnish: Kemin lumilinna) is the biggest snow fort in the world. It is rebuilt every winter with a different architecture in Kemi, Finland. In 1996 the first snow castle drew 300,000 visitors. For several years the snowcastle was located in the Kemi city harbor.

Will there be a restroom at Ice Castles? Each Ice Castles location is equipped with portable restroom facilities just outside of the entrance/exit to Ice Castles. If you need to exit the Castle briefly to use the restroom, please notify a crew member so they know to let you back in when you return.

You may stay as long as you'd like in the venue, as we do not limit the amount of time spent enjoying Ice Castles. Typically guests spend about 30 minutes to an hour. There is no re-entry allowed once you have exited the experience.

It turns out that those fairy tales you read as a child all left out a very important truth: The moats that surrounded medieval castles weren't just useful defenses against attack; they were also open sewers into which the castles' primitive waste disposal systems flushed human excrement and other foul substances.

The daytime allows you to appreciate the glacial blues that only the natural light of the sun brings out in the ice, as well as the details in the Ice Castles. At night, once the sun has set, LED lights illuminate Ice Castles from within as you experience the majestic creations under the stars.
