The Jones Beach Boardwalk traverses Jones Beach State Park, running parallel (and south of) Ocean Parkway. The pleasant pathway offers views of the beach and the ocean. Although bicycles are permitted, pedestrians have the right of way and bicyclists should dismount in crowded areas.

And the best is on week days for us 62 or older the parking is free, just show your drivers license. I have been coming here for over 65 years and there is not enough praises I can say for it.

There are open showers for just rinsing by the entrance areas to the beaches. Helpful? There are faucets near the beach on the boardwalk where people use to rinse off after using the beach.

During beach season, lifeguards are on duty daily, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Swimming is prohibited when lifeguards are not on duty and in closed sections. Closed sections are marked with signs and/or red flags. All of our beaches are free and open to the public.
