Each ride vehicle has 21 seats with 7 guests per row. An aisle separates the first two rows, 4 guests to the left and 3 to the right. Guests in the second two rows will have to walk up 1 or 2 steps to board. Each seat has a hard back and a fabric safety belt.
When it first opened, the ride only dropped once from the top of the tower, but less than two years later, a second drop was added.The ride got a third drop in 1999, along with new features like rumbling and more time in the elevator shaft.
Tower of Terror and Haunted Mansion posted a 13-minute wait time on July 1st in Disney World which means that they had no wait! Since these are the two spookiest rides in Disney World, they say 13 minutes instead of 5 minutes like many other rides do when they don't have a wait.
According to Cast Members we spoke with earlier, Tower of Terror is refurbishing one set of elevators, so only one half of the ride is currently running. That's why the wait times for the ride have been pretty high and because only half of the ride is going, it's probably more likely to go down.

Rise of the Resistance used to be the clear winner of the popularity contest here, and that doesn't hold true anymore either. At all crowd levels, Flight of Passage sells out first.
If you think he's ready go for it. If he gets in & sees the ride vehicles & wants to back out, there's always an escape hatch for those space travelers that want to abort the mission. I've had parents tell me that they've taken their 5 year olds on SM & they loved it - others were terrified.
Age Rating: What Ages of Kids Can Ride Tower Of Terror? As always, you know your kids best. But this is one of those instances where being tall enough (40 inches) isn't always the same as being ready for an attraction. A tall 3-year-old should also be a fairly mature and brave 3-year-old to enjoy this ride.
