Is TSA clear international?

Global Entry expedites your return to the U.S. after international travel while Clear helps you skip the ID check at TSA security lines before domestic or international flights. Clear verifies your identity via a fingerprint or an eye scan.

CLEAR Plus is primarily a domestic U.S. service, but in 2026, it has expanded its eligibility significantly to include international travelers. While the physical CLEAR biometric lanes are only located at approximately 60 major U.S. airports, citizens from over 40 countries—including Canada, the UK, Australia, and much of the European Union—can now enroll in the program to expedite their security process when flying out of or within the United States. It is important to note that CLEAR is not a substitute for Global Entry or passport control when entering a foreign country or returning to the U.S.; it only handles the identity verification step at the start of the TSA security line. There is no "CLEAR lane" at London Heathrow or Paris CDG, for example. However, CLEAR has begun partnering with specific international venues and "Digital Identity" initiatives globally to allow its members to use their biometric profile for age verification or lounge access in certain international markets. For the typical traveler, CLEAR remains a powerful tool for navigating busy American terminals, but standard international documentation is still required for all border crossings.
