Is ULEZ refundable?

You can amend or apply for a refund for some Congestion Charges, Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charges and Low Emission Zone (LEZ) charges. You can amend charges for today and future dates. We can only give refunds for future dates. Single day charges can't be refunded, apart from LEZ charges.

The rules for refunds of paid congestion charges as set out in the Scheme Order are the same whatever payment method is used. Refunds are only available for unused future days of monthly (20 day) and annual (252 day) charges. Refunds are not available for any part of daily or weekly (5 day) charges.

An Order for Recovery means TfL will register that outstanding ULEZ charge as unpaid debt with the Traffic Enforcement Centre and will also mean your original charge will increase too.
