Volcano Bay is a Universal Orlando Resort water theme park. It opened in 2017 as the "third park" at the resort, joining Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. In 2026, it remains a standout for its immersive South Pacific "Waturi" theming and its iconic 200-foot-tall Krakatau volcano, which houses several high-thrill slides. A key feature of Volcano Bay is the TapuTapu wearable, a waterproof wristband given to all guests that allows them to "virtually" wait in line for rides, triggering notifications when it is their turn to slide. This "virtual queue" system is designed to eliminate physical standing in lines, allowing guests to relax in the winding rivers or the wave pool instead. While Disney has its own beloved water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, Volcano Bay is strictly a Universal property and requires its own specific admission or a multi-park pass.
