Is Volcano Bay worth it for kids?

Volcano Bay is an awesome water park at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida that the whole family will love. We visited Volcano Bay when our four kids were all between 5-10 years old. It was a relaxing (yes relaxing, even with 4 kids) and enjoyable time for all of us.

So, which Universal park is better for kids? As a general rule of thumb, we find that Universal Studios is the better choice as it has plenty of kid-friendly options when it comes to rides, shows, and character meet and greets!

However, the Universal Studios age recommendation is a fairly mature 8 years-old. If they're younger they probably won't be able to appreciate much of the entertainment or be able to go on many rides, but families do have a fun experience when taking a trip together.

Disney World definitely has more attractions for young kids, and Universal Studios might look like it just has thrill rides. But we like to wander the themed areas to watch street artists before casually catching character parades — without needing to queue up beforehand.

Plus, the park is considerably more than some other waterparks like SeaWorld's Aquatica. Having shelled out that money ourselves and spending the day at the park, we are happy to say that yes, Volcano Bay is worth the money.

Proper swim attire – it's required for all rides at Volcano Bay Orlando. Water shirts/rash guards to protect you from the sun, although you'll need to remove them for the trap door slides.

Is the water heated at Volcano Bay? Yes, of course! Almost every water slide, pool, and lazy (or not-so-lazy) river is fully heated to at least 80 degrees, which is what allows the water park to remain open almost every day of the year.

If you're looking for thrills, IOA is the place for you. If you want to enjoy a day in the water with your family, Volcano Bay is perfect. And if you're looking for a truly immersive and thematic experience, USF is the ideal choice.

Wear something on your feet You won't be able to go down the water slides with them but many (not all) of the rides have small baskets to throw in your flip-flops, sunglasses, and towel before you climb up the steps to the slide.

A: The best Disney park for a 5-year-old will be Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom has over 15 attractions with no height requirement, and plenty of magic for your little ones. You will also find the most character meet and greets in Magic Kingdom if that is what your little one is excited to do!

Hands down, Magic Kingdom offers the most magical experience of all of the Orlando theme parks. Guests of all ages, but especially the toddler set, will be able to enjoy a large number of attractions. They can also meet their favorite Disney characters and wonder at the sights and sounds in each of the different lands.
