Should I buy Disney parking ahead of time?

I like you like to plan the small details of my Walt Disney World vacations! I have great news for you because you do not have to reserve parking ahead of time for Walt Disney World's theme parks. There are two options for parking at the four theme parks in Walt Disney World: Standard Parking and Preferred Parking.



In 2026, buying Disney parking ahead of time is highly recommended for Disneyland Resort (Anaheim), while it is generally handled upon arrival at Walt Disney World (Orlando). At Disneyland, you can prepay for standard parking ($40) via the official website or app, which streamlines your entry into the massive Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals structures. For Walt Disney World, you typically pay the attendant at the toll plaza ($35 for standard) using a card, cash, or your MagicBand. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, standard theme park parking is complimentary, so you do not need to purchase it at all. Even if you don't prepay, using the "Car Locator" feature in the My Disney Experience or Disneyland app is essential for finding your vehicle at the end of a long day. If you want "Preferred Parking" to be closer to the entrance, you can usually pay the difference ($15–$25) at the toll booth even if you have a prepaid standard voucher.
