What are the new rules for Delta Sky Club?

A yearly membership for Delta's lounges is $695. Some restrictions will start as soon as Jan. 1, 2024, with the airline announcing that customers who book a basic economy ticket will no longer be allowed in Delta's lounges, regardless if they carry a Platinum Card or any other premium credit card.

As of February 1, 2025, and continuing into 2026, Delta has implemented significant changes to Sky Club access to combat overcrowding. The most controversial rule is the 3-hour access policy, which prevents guests from entering the club more than three hours before their scheduled departure (except for those on connecting flights). Furthermore, passengers flying on Basic Economy fares are now strictly prohibited from entering, regardless of their credit card or elite status. For American Express Card Members, access is now "allotted" rather than unlimited: Delta SkyMile Reserve cardholders get 15 visits per year, and Amex Platinum cardholders get 10 visits. To unlock "unlimited" access again, cardholders must spend at least $75,000 on their eligible card in a calendar year. Medallion members (Gold, Platinum, Diamond) can only access the club when flying internationally in Delta One or Premium Select cabins. These rules are designed to prioritize premium-cabin passengers and high-spending loyalists while reducing the "lounge lines" that plagued major hubs in previous years.
