Delta is giving long-term loyalists more of the recognition they deserve. Effective January 1, 2024, the airline is moving Million Miler Status up in the hierarchy for Complimentary Upgrades. And beginning February 1, 2024, Million Milers will also receive enhanced complimentary annual Medallion Status.

Delta has four tiers of elite status: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. You can earn status by flying and spending enough within a single calendar year, and once earned you'll keep it through the following calendar year. So if you earn Gold status in February 2023, you'll keep it through the end of 2024.
The news comes as the airline struggled to handle overcrowding at popular lounges at Delta's major hubs like JFK Airport or Atlanta. Along with the lounge cutbacks, Delta is also making it increasingly more difficult for its customers to qualify for status on its SkyMiles program.

Platinum Card Members may bring either two guests or immediate family (spouse or domestic partner and children under 21 years of age) at a per-visit rate of $50 per person, per location. For Grab and Go entries, the guest fee is $25 per guest per visit.
