What bags can you take on rides at Universal?

Most of these rides allow you to safely store items that can fit in your pocket or small fanny pack that can tuck under your shirt. However, all other large items (purses, camera bags, backpacks, etc.) must go inside the ride locker.

At Universal Studios (Orlando and Hollywood), the bag policy depends strictly on the intensity of the ride. For most high-thrill coasters like VelociCoaster, Hulk, and Rip Ride Rockit, no bags or loose items are allowed at all, not even in pockets; you must use the free lockers provided at the entrance. For many other popular rides, such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or Revenge of the Mummy, you may carry a small fanny pack if it has a three-prong closure and does not interfere with the safety restraint. However, standard backpacks and over-the-shoulder bags must be stowed in free lockers. For gentler attractions like simulators or water rides, you are usually allowed to take your bag on board and store it at your feet or in a dedicated pouch. To ensure a smooth day, it is recommended to bring a bag smaller than 14" x 16" x 5.5" to fit into the free standard-sized lockers.
