What day is best to go to Animal Kingdom?

Which is the best day to visit Animal Kingdom? Animal Kingdom is one of the only Disney theme parks which we recommend to visit certain weekend days. We typically see lower crowds on Friday and Sundays. Wednesday is another one of the best days to go to Animal Kingdom.

In 2026, the best days to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom are consistently Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Unlike Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, which attract heavy crowds on Mondays and Saturdays, Animal Kingdom is often viewed as a "half-day" park by many travelers, making it less of a priority for the weekend rush. Midweek attendance is significantly lower, leading to shorter wait times for Avatar Flight of Passage. Another pro tip for 2026: avoid "Extra Early Entry" days if you aren't staying on-property, as the park fills up quickly in the first hour. If you visit on a Wednesday in late August or September (the "sweet spot" for 2026 crowds), you can often walk onto the Kilimanjaro Safaris in the late afternoon when animals are most active and day-trippers have already headed back to their hotels for a nap or a swim.
