What did Epcot forever replace?

Epcot Forever is a limited-time fireworks show that premiered on October 1, 2019, at Epcot. Epcot Forever served as an interim replacement for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth until its long-term replacement, Harmonious, premiered in 2021. It took the form of a celebration of Epcot's musical history.

Epcot Forever was a nighttime spectacular that primarily served as an interim replacement for the legendary IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, which ended its 20-year run in September 2019. Epcot Forever was designed to celebrate the musical history and "retro" aesthetic of Epcot while the infrastructure for the next permanent show, Harmonious, was being built in the World Showcase Lagoon. After Harmonious concluded its run in 2023, Epcot Forever briefly returned once more as a "bridge" show before the 2024 debut of the current permanent show, Luminous: The Symphony of Us. For Disney fans in 2026, Epcot Forever is remembered as a nostalgic tribute that featured classic park music from defunct attractions like Journey Into Imagination and Horizons, utilizing special pyrotechnic-laden kites that were a unique hallmark of the production.
