Flight of Fear is an indoor launched coaster located in the Area 72 section at Kings Island. The ride opened in 1996 and was originally known as The Outer Limits: Flight of Fear, and themed to the 1995 TV series The Outer Limits.

Kings Island was conceived as early as 1964 when Coney Island, a popular amusement park 10 miles (16 km) east of downtown Cincinnati on the banks of the Ohio River, suffered from a major flood that submerged the area in over 14 feet (4.3 m) of water.

Son of Beast closed for the remainder of the 2006 season while repairs were made, and Kings Island decided to replace the original trains with lighter models.
