Going to Walt Disney World after a hurricane or tropical storm is a different experience but is still fun. The weather isn't the best, but this is the time to run through puddles and experience low wait times. Of course, if you don't feel safe driving, then don't visit the parks.

The closure of the Orlando-area Disney parks has only happened eight times before now, according to media reports: For Disneyland, the two parks, Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure, will close at midnight tonight and will stay closed until next month.
They have safe locations for them behind the scene, aka “backstage”, at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. All of the wildlife pens and barns are built of reinforced concrete and designed to be able to withstand a Category 3 Hurricane with little to no damage.
The good news is that most hotels have an emergency plan in place in case a natural disaster occurs while you're on vacation. This could include designated safe zones, back up generators, food, bottled water, and first aid supplies. If you're close to the ground level, ask the hotel staff if you can change rooms.
As we mentioned, if there is a Hurricane warning in the Orlando area or in the area you live, Disney will refund you the cost of your trip or let you reschedule without any fees.
What is this? The show must go on, and even when it is rainy, Disney World is open. Now, of course if Disney does happen to close for a weather event (like a hurricane) they will issue refunds then. But, if it is just a rainy day at Disney, the parks will remain open and no rain checks or refunds will be given.
