What does Star Alliance Gold get you on Lufthansa?

With Star Alliance Gold status you can enjoy more lounges than any other alliance – and bring a guest along with you. Whether it's great food and refreshments or a place to work or relax, you can experience it in our lounges. Catch a glimpse of what's on offer in our latest film.

Star Alliance Gold status provides a "VIP" experience when flying Lufthansa, regardless of your ticket class. Key benefits include Access to Lufthansa Senator Lounges (which are generally higher-tier than the standard Business Lounges) for you and one guest, and Priority Boarding with Group 2 (alongside Business Class). You also get an Extra Baggage Allowance—typically one additional piece of checked luggage (up to 23 kg) or an extra 20 kg depending on the route. At the airport, you can use the First/Business Class check-in counters and the "Gold Track" security lanes to skip the crowds. Furthermore, your bags receive "Priority Handling," meaning they are among the first on the carousel when you land. Note that these benefits apply even if you are flying on a "Light" (no-bag) fare, though the extra baggage perk specifically may be restricted on some ultra-low-cost "Light" tickets, so always check your specific fare rules.
