What happened to Deja Vu Six Flags?

In 2007, Six Flags announced the removal of D?j? Vu from both Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags Great America. They announced that the Six Flags Over Georgia ride would be replaced with a new themed area called Thomas Town (since rethemed to Whistlestop Park).

Deja Vu was a trio of "Giant Inverted Boomerang" roller coasters opened by Six Flags in 2001 at three different parks: Magic Mountain (California), Great America (Illinois), and Georgia (Georgia). Due to extreme mechanical unreliability and low capacity, all three were eventually removed. The Six Flags Magic Mountain version was relocated to Six Flags New England in 2012 and renamed Goliath, where it operated until its permanent closure in 2021 and subsequent demolition. The Six Flags Great America version was sold to Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho, where it continues to operate successfully today under the name Aftershock. The Six Flags Over Georgia version was removed in 2007 and sold to a park in Brazil (Mirabilandia), where it was intended to be renamed "Sky Mountain," but it never opened as the park closed permanently. By 2026, these Vekoma-built giants are largely gone from the Six Flags portfolio, replaced by newer themed areas like Whistlestop Park in Georgia. Only a few installations of this specific model remain operating worldwide, most notably in Madrid and Sochi, serving as relics of a high-ambition but mechanically troubled era of coaster design.
